Cheap hotels near Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands
The Van Gogh Museum houses the largest single collection of the artist’s paintings in the world. The collection was given to Amsterdam by Van Gogh’s nephew and namesake (Vincent Willem).
In addition to his paintings, the museum offers many exhibits, often aiming to compare and contrast Van Gogh’s paintings with those of his contemporaries.
The Van Gogh Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (until 10 p.m. on Fridays). For something fun, stop by on a Friday night, when the museum comes to life with DJs, video projections and cocktails. For more info, visit the museum's Web site.
