The 53-room Queen’s Hotel sits on Drottninggatan, or "Queen’s Street." The location is perfect, as Drottninggatan is a pedestrian street filled with shops, bars, and restaurants. A ten-minute walk will find you in Central Station or Gamla Stan.

The three-star hotel has a sense of antique elegance. While there is an elevator, the sweeping staircase keeps things classic. The lobby is filled with Persian rugs and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

Bedrooms and bathrooms have been recently renovated. The rooms are large and basic, with nice beds, a TV, and a small desk. The en suite bathrooms have black and white tiles—a popular design choice in Stockholm.

The Queen's Hotel occupies three different floors of the building and plenty of rooms have large windows facing the street. Despite all of the action outside the hotel, the rooms remain very quiet.

Busy and hectic, Norrmalm is characterized by the lively Drottninggatan, Stockholm's Central Station, and a veritable slew of cultural facilities. Kulturhuset, St. Jacobs Church, the Royal Opera, Sweden House, and several appealing parks crowd into Norrmalm.

The neighborhood's very modern heart is crowded with all sorts of retail shops, Stockholm's big department stores, and, to the south on a detached island, the national Parliament. While tourists are an unavoidable part of the Norrmalm picture, the vast majority of the crowds surrounding you here are residents. Norrmalm is the beating heart of today's Stockholm.
