Cheap hotels near Vondelpark in Amsterdam, Netherlands
The city’s most famous green space, the Vondelpark opened in 1865 but had turned into a playground for sex, drugs and rock n’ roll by the 1970s. Today it has once again become a serene oasis in an otherwise upscale neighborhood.
The Vondelpark offers 120 acres of public space, attracting about 10 million people a year. Visitors come for the sports fields, bike paths and sprawling lawns, while others take in the park's open-air theater, playground and film museum.
The park is located just southwest of Grachtengordel South and the Museumplein.
